Επαγγελματίας στους Μπλάιθ Σπάρτανς (Blyth Spartans A.F.C.)

Interview | Panos relishing ‘big opportunity’ at Blyth

New signing Panos Katsamagkas says joining Blyth Spartans is a big opportunity – but one he is determined to take.
Greek forward Panos put pen to paper at Croft Park after weeks of training with what are now his new teammates.
Panos’ arrival at Blyth will allow him to get a full season of National League North football under his belt having spent most of his time at Harrogate Town in their under-23s set up.
He wants to prove he can make the step up for Blyth, a club he already knows plenty about.
Panos said: “Playing for Blyth is a big opportunity for me to play at this level for the first time in my career and test my abilities against players that play in this division.
“I know that the club has a big history, especially in the FA Cup with some good runs in the competition.
“I have seen that there is a Greek supporters fan page on Facebook and Twitter, so I’m very happy to be Greek and play for Blyth Spartans!
“I want to prove that I can compete at this level and hopefully through playing my role and helping the team, I can go higher in the football pyramid.”
He added: “A big part of my decision to sign here was Michael Nelson.
“From the first time we spoke he explained to me the plan of the team going forward and showed me that I can trust him on and off the pitch.
“I can’t wait for the season to start and finally play some competitive football again after a long time.
“I would describe myself as a versatile player. I can do a lot of things on the pitch, like scoring goals and help the team build the game.
“I like to work hard defensively by putting pressure on the defenders and do everything to help the team win games.”

Arrival | Greek forward

joins Blyth Spartans

Blyth Spartans AFC is pleased to announce the arrival of Greek forward Panos Katsamagkas.
Panos, who becomes the second Greek player behind Michal Misiewicz to represent the club, is Michael Nelson’s latest signing having previously been on the books at National League outfit Harrogate Town.
He also spent time on loan at Ossett United in the early part of last season but will now represent Spartans in the upcoming campaign.
On signing for Blyth, Panos told blythspartans.com: “I’m very happy to sign for Blyth Spartans. I’m really excited for this upcoming season.
“I hope I can help the team achieve its goals for this season and also show everyone what I can do.
“I know it’s going to be difficult but I believe in myself and the team. I work hard and I hope that I give the fans something to cheer for in every game.”

Michael Nelson added: “We’ve been short on goalscorers, not just at the moment but last season as well.
“Panos got recommended to us by somebody I used to play with, so we brought him into training and we liked him as soon as we saw him in terms of his technical ability.
“It’s been hard to see players and their true potential when you haven’t been able to watch them play in games but as the guidelines have eased, we’ve been able to see more of him.
“We think he’ll be a good fit for us. His attitude has been excellent, he’s travelled up from Leeds each week and showed a real willingness and desire to improve and do well. “
